If I am picking up my child after school, where do I pick him/her up?
Pick-up will be at the Northeast corner of the junior high building.

If I need to bring my child to school late, what is the procedure?
He/She must check in at the main office with the following information:
- Note from an appointment (will be coded as an excused absence)
- Parent note or call (will be coded as a verified absence)
- Parent checks the student in (will be coded as a verified absence)
- If there is no parent response, the absence will be coded unverified. -
If I need to pick up my child early from school, what is the procedure?
Parent or guardian will need to come into the school to check out student from school early.

If my child is sick or will be out of school all day, what is the procedure?
Please call the attendance line at 417-724-6400 or you may send an email verifying the absence to Jenni McCarthy at
jennimccarthy@nixaschools.net . When requesting homework, please email your child’s core teachers and make arrangements with them to pick up the homework.All absences not verified by a parent/guardian or excused by a doctor will be counted as an unverified absence.

If my child is going to go home with a friend after school on the bus, what is the procedure?
All students riding the bus home with a friend must have a note from the parent with the name of the student he/she will be going home with, the bus number, and parent phone number. All bus notes must be submitted to the front office BEFORE FIRST HOUR to be verified before the student can get on the bus.

If my child is having academic or concerns with grades?
Always contact the classroom teacher first. He/She has the most information about your child.

If my child is having personal or other problems, what can I do?
Please contact the Counselors office at 417-724-6440. Our counselors will be glad to work with you to get the problem resolved.

If I cannot get into or forgot my user name and password to PowerSchool/Parent Portal, what do I do?
Please contact Jenni McCarthy at jennimccarthy@nixaschools.net and request to have the user name or password reset.

If my child needs money for lunch, lab fees, activity fees, etc., what is the procedure?
All money will be collected through SchoolPay. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Summer Skinner at summerskinner@nixaschools.net.
